12ga Serial # 12023 Antique J. Purdey & Sons 12 ga self Opening Sidelock Non-Ejector Mfd 1884. Sleeved Nito proved Bbls 2 1/2" chambers choked Mod & IC with top rib marked " J. PURDEY & SONS AUDLEY HOUSE AUDLEY STREET LONDON". 7 pin side lock marked J.PURDEY & SONS at bottom and extensively scroll engraved. Double trigger with lifter extractors. Fitted with nicely figured oil-finished walnut stock 15" LOP. 1 5/8" 2 3/8" DAH. Factory ledger indicates gun was shipped Oct, 1884. Condition, Extremely fine as restored, The Engraving on underside is very soft, Wood and all finishes are excellent. Mechanically Fine Barrel 28" NO4473
